A Bit About Sleep Apnea
Sleep Apnea is a condition that occurs much more often than you would think. Do you know someone who snores? 90% of people who snore actually have sleep apnea, and the pure number of people who snore is so large that the number of people with sleep apnea is massive. This number can hopefully give you a bit of insight into how common this disorder is.
Sleep Apnea is defined as being one or more pauses in breathing or shallow breaths while you sleep. This happens because the airway collapses or becomes blocked. While it is a chronic condition, it may be hard to know that you have it, as you are not fully conscious when trying to determine if you have all the symptoms. Some things you may be able to look out for while you are awake is being tired during the day, as well as waking up in the middle of the night.
