A CEREC? machine is a restorative system that helps dentists restore decayed teeth, place crowns, remove defective fillings, and place cosmetic veneers all during an appointment!
Our in-office CEREC? machine allows dental patients to have their crowns generated and placed in one dental appointment. CEREC? technology is like having a private dental lab right in your dental office. High resolution 3D digital imaging scans the surface of the prepared tooth during the treatment appointment. This information is then sent to the milling unit where it mills a restoration from a block of porcelain to fit the prepared tooth exactly.
Using conventional techniques, the patient would have returned home with a temporary crown, waited 2 weeks, and then returned to have the permanent crown fitted. Our CEREC? machine lets patients skip having a temporary crown or a 2nd appointment because the permanent crown is made while they?re still in the chair.
Chairside: this machine is in the office and can be used while you are in the dentist’s chair.
Economical: this procedure is economical for both the dentist and the patient.
Restorations: this procedure restores your tooth to it?s natural beauty, function and strength.
Esthetic: these restorations are metal-free and tooth-colored.
Ceramic: We use high-strength ceramics that are close in composition to your natural tooth structure.
The CEREC? Acquisition Unit is a mobile, medical grade computer that takes digital pictures of teeth. These digital pictures are used instead of traditional impressions, eliminating the need for gag-inducing impression trays! The computer then converts the digital picture into a 3D virtual model of the prepped tooth, which our dentists can then make restorations right on the screen. Once the restorations are done (only takes about 5 minutes) our dentist will click a button, and the design is communicated to the CEREC? Milling Unit via a wireless radio signal.
Here at Paradise Dental, we stay up to date with the newest technology. We have recently upgraded from the CEREC? Bluecam to the CEREC? Omnicam. With the Bluecam, we needed to apply a powder to our patients teeth in order to take images. The camera would then be directly placed on each tooth, and take individual images. With the Omnicam, our dentists can take precise 3D images in natural color, with powder-free scanning. The elimination of the powder coating means that the scanning process is easier to learn. The seamless scanning process creates an impressive depth of field without the dentist having to adjust their natural working posture. They can even stop and resume the scan at any time.
Dr. Stephen Hamelburg from Paradise Dental has over 20 years experience working with CEREC? technology. The CEREC? machine allows us to provide custom porcelain crown restorations to our patients in just a single visit. We?ve invested in this machine because we strongly value our patients time and comfort.
