What to Expect During Your Dental Crown Procedure?

What To Expect During Your Dental Crown Procedure?

Paradise Dental has provided Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) restoration services since 1999. Cracked, damaged, and compromised teeth can ruin your smile and interfere with your ability to perform daily activities like eating. When teeth are weak to the point of practically falling apart, CEREC crowns are our answer to give our patients their confidence back with sturdy, stunning, and natural-looking teeth. If you are looking to learn more about a CEREC dental crown procedure at Paradise Dental, follow along as we go more in detail about what you can expect.

Only One Appointment Necessary

For most dental crown procedures, your first visit would act as a consultation as they take x-rays and molds of your teeth to fabricate while you wait until your next appointment for placement. However, Paradise Dental has invested in CEREC technology because we value our patients’ time. We can complete a full CEREC crown restoration in one visit; X-rays, molds, fabrication, and placement!

During your appointment, we capture a digital impression of the affected teeth and the surrounding teeth with our intraoral camera. Next, we use our VITA Easyshade® device to match the surrounding teeth perfectly. The CEREC system’s design program then takes that information and uses it to create a virtual blueprint for your crowns. Once the design is completed, your restorations are fabricated with our in-house milling machine while you stay comfortable and relaxed. We then place your final, permanent restorations. You’ll be able to return to normal activities soon after you leave our office with beautiful, natural-looking teeth to complete your stunning smile, all after only one visit to our office!

Dental Crown Recovery Process

The recovery is relatively minimal for CEREC dental crown procedures. You may deal with some irritation, sensitivity, and inflammation. Our incredible doctors will provide you with after-care tips to make your recovery process as easy as possible. After a few days, your new teeth should go back to feeling normal. If you are experiencing discomfort or pain days after your procedure, be sure to give us a call as soon as possible, as we may need to make adjustments.

After Care

It is crucial to maintain good oral hygiene and health regularly and after these restoration procedures. Be sure to continue your regular brushing and flossing routine as usual. After your procedure, it is best to avoid biting into hard foods for a few days to prevent cracking.

Check-Ups and Cleanings

Once your confidence is restored with CEREC crowns, you will be scheduled for regular checkups and cleanings.
